This sea front property was built for David Stein, the founder of MCA, and later owner of Universal Pictures in Hollywood.
Many famous people have stayed in this house, as guests of Mr.Stein, including: James Stewart, Phil Silvers, Gregory Peck, Greta Garbo, Kirk Douglas, Olivier de Haviland, Lauren Bacall, Humphry Bogart, Rex Harrison, Gene Kelly, Jack Lemmon, John Steinbeck, Dwight Eisenhower, Arthur Rubenstein, Henry Mancini and Princess Caroline de Hanover to name but a few. The guestbook of the villa reads like the who-is-who of the fifties and sixties.
Rumors go that it was decided in this house to make Ronald Reagan president of America, as described in the book , Dark Victory; MCA, Ronald Reagan and the MOB, written by Dan Moldea.
The house was built to include many antique fixtures and fittings that Mr.Stein had collected on his travels. The house has recently been refurbished and remodeled to a modern standard, but many of these original fittings have been retained.
The kitchen is fitted out to a professional standard. 5 meters of industrial fridges will keep all your drinks at your desired temperature. The house also features an underground private discotheque, and a Chill out room
The villa is double the size of most villas in Ibiza. 800m2 covered area and an other 500m2 on terraces
The house is 5 min north from Santa Eularia, 200 meter from Punta Arabi and Calla Martina, a famous beach for watersport and kite surfing. The most beautiful and unspoiled beaches of the island are between here and Portinax.
Distances to Ibiza town, Amnesia, Pacha, Underground and Privilege are all within 15min drive. There is a taxi stand at 2 min walk from the villa., but most taxi drivers on Ibiza know the house and will pick you up or drop you off at the front door.
Shops and restaurants are at walking distance
Access to the house is via an electric gate. The driveway then passes through grass and woodland (that is classified as "urban land" belonging to this property and into the front garden that features a pond and fountain.
On the "sea side" of the property, there is a large covered terrace with dining area, overlooking the Mediterranean. There is a swimming pool to the side of the villa with a view to the sea.
Stairs lead to a large roof terrace, floored with wooden decking, where there is a bar and dining area, as well as day beds.
The stunning near 180 degrees sea view makes the villa a very sought after venue for wedding ceremonies.
There is a direct access from the villa to a secluded beach.
Location Description
The villa is just 5 minutes drive north-east of Santa Eulalia del Rio, a cosmopolitan town, close to some of Ibiza's most beautiful beaches and with easy access to other parts of the island. The town boasts numerous shops, bars and restaurants as well as a "Blue Flag" beach; attractive promenade, superb yachting Marina and the only river in the Balearics! Sampling same of the resort's culinary delights, either in the town, along the seafront or in the marina, may well become a major pastime of your holiday!
