The Beaches of Ibiza

One of the best things about staying in Ibiza is that it has over 30 miles of stunning coastline and over 80 beautiful beaches. So, no matter where you are, you’re never more than 10 minutes drive from a beach that’s perfect for your needs.

Ibiza has some of the most magnificent, unspoilt beaches in the Mediterranean. From small, protected coves to bustling, sandy expanses with all kinds of watersports, there are so many to choose from you’ll have to keep coming back to Ibiza to visit them all.

Ibiza’s waters are amongst the cleanest in Europe. Many beaches hold the coveted EEC blue flag. Water temperatures get as high as 26 degrees is the summer months. The sun is nearly always out in Ibiza and can be very strong so you’ll need to bring your own parasol or hire one from the many stands on the beaches.

One of the most popular, and at 2km one of the longest, beaches in Ibiza is Playa D’en Bossa, near Ibiza Town. The beach caters for all tastes. The Ibiza Town end is full of bars, including the famous Bora Bora, pumping out house music and can tend to get crowded but is great for those who want to start partying early. Away from the town things are calmer and more relaxed with less people – a chance to relax and enjoy the view. There are plenty of watersports on offer – pedalos, windsurfing, parasailing, volleyball and diving amongst others. There are many other beaches such as this which have something for everybody.

If you would like a quieter, more relaxing time then a beach to the south of the island is the place to be. A good example of this is Las Salinas which is on the southernmost tip of the island. Its sandy shores, crystal clear waters and stunning scenery allow you to relax and provide the serenity you need for a truly peaceful holiday. With only 3 bars you are well away from the noise and bustle of the busier beaches but can still buy your refreshments after a long days sunbathing. If you feel more energetic the beach is on the edge of a conservation area just waiting to be explored. This is typical of many of the beaches Ibiza can offer for those people who just want to get away from it all.

Wherever you are on the island and whatever sort of days you want there is bound to be a beach for you in Ibiza.
