Benirras Beach
Of the many beaches Ibiza has to offer, Benirras is widely considered to be number one. There was a time when this was a closely guarded secret, however it’s growing reputation has ensured that those days are over. Admittedly Benirras isn’t the easiest beach to get to, access is via a narrow road located between San Joan and San Miguel or a dirt track via Porto San Miguel. However it is defiantly worth the trip and there is plenty of parking which is nicely shaded by pine trees. The beach itself doesn't have any shaded areas, so we strongly recommend bringing something for shade. The main focal point from the beach is a giant rock that points up from the sea that the locals refer to as “God’s Finger”. This adds to what is already a beautiful well kept beach and there are even shower facilities. The real magic of Benirras begins around half an hour before sunset, when hippy drummers appear almost out of nowhere and begin to bang their drums as the sun sets.
